WikiNet has many exciting events forecasted for this spring, one of which was our participation at the AI for Good Global Summit on the 28th to the 31st of May 2019. Jean-Sébastien Rolland, our product manager and Amélie Rolland, our lead AI developer, embarked on a week-long conference which took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
In 2016, WikiNet began participating in the IBM Watson AI Xprize, AI To Solve The World’s Grand Challenges. Our team was inspired to join the competition because we felt that the Xprize embodied our company’s goals and values. WikiNet’s long-term objective is to make a positive impact in the AI Environmental arena via our solution WatRem.
Xprize has been active since 1994 and has produced 17 prizes in a range of industries including energy, environment, health, learning, oceans, safety, space, transportation and robotics. WikiNet has now reached Round 3 in the competition with 34 competitors from 10 countries.
WatRem is positioned uniquely as an AI solution to combat the degradation of soil, farmland and wetlands. This degradation is effectively the result of ‘historical pollution’ which stems from ignorance and improper disposal of hazardous waste which has led to catastrophic soil and groundwater contamination affecting millions of human-beings through cancer and other diseases. We are confident that WatRem will be an effective tool in assuring the restoration of our environment and its preservation for future generations to come.
The Xprize Finalist will be announced on April 1st 2019.
